Fellowship of the Federation

Senior HR professionals and employment lawyers may apply for Fellowship. Individual Fellowship is open to HR Directors and their first reports and seasoned employment lawyers who have been in practice (or acted as an in-house counsel) for at least five years. It is supplementary to corporate membership and may remain in force for as long as the Fellow continues on the staff of their member company, or with another member company. It will cease at its year end if the company terminates its corporate membership. However, honorary Fellowships may be awarded to long-standing Fellows in recognition of their contribution to the Federation and their profession.

Fellowship is obtained on request or nomination. Provided you or your nominee meets our criteria then they will be admitted into Fellowship. Fellows will be sent a certificate confirming their status and will be entitled to use the designation F.FedEE.

For further information please contact FedEE’s Membership Secretary, Julia Zhu, on  (+44) (0) 207 442 5570 or at membershipservices@fedee.com.

Next Fellowship Meeting: December 1st 2017, London, UK

The next meeting of FedEE Fellows will be in London on the afternoon of December the 1st 2017. This will be completely free to Fellows, but there will be a limited number of places.

As some members will recall – up until six years ago FedEE held networking meetings several times a year on a half-day basis and these proved to be highly popular.

The format for meetings will remain the same as with previous daily meetings, although as the time available will be much reduced we will cover less topics. As a further innovation, we will be mailing out a brief questionnaire to Fellows requesting preferences about the topics to be covered. We shall also prepare background briefings on the topics chosen and shall mail these out to participants one week before the meeting.

All discussions are held confidentially “in camera”, with no notes taken. In this way we hope to encourage participants to speak more openly than they would normally do in discussions with those out side their company.  Such sessions also provide a useful sounding board for ideas and a place where mistakes can be admitted. All innovations carry a risk and it is helpful if other employers can benefit from the consequent learning curve.

If you are not currently a FedEE Fellow you may sign up for Fellowship by contacting the Membership Secretary by phone (0044 207 442 5570) or email at membershipservices@fedee.comFellowship is currently free, although in future it will be awarded as part of our Diploma programme.

Next Fellowship Meeting: June 16th 2017, London, UK

The Nature of Fellowship Meetings: Our regular meetings involve off-the-record discussions about important HR-related issues. Because no notes are taken participants are free to express views freely and share experiences and insights gained during their work. Although those taking part may introduce subjects on the day we generally follow an agenda drawn up in advance. Subjects are those put forward by FedEE itself and suggested by individual Fellows. Topics are often led by either an invited expert or the person who has tabled it.

At this meeting we shall initially devote some time to the consideration of one topic – the evolving role of the HR professional in a multinational enterprise. This will particularly review the impact of current affairs, legislative changes, technology and new approaches to labour relations on HR duties, powers, responsibilities and career structures.

When you sign up to attend please suggest any further topics and/or indicate which topics on our list are of particular interest to you.

How to Book: Simply email us at membershipservices@fedee.com indicating the number of bookings you wish to make and we will sign you up, confirm your booking by return, invoice you and send you detailed joining instructions two weeks before the event.

Please note that If you are unable to attend at the last minute then you may send a colleague in your place and they do not need to be a registered Fellow.

Please see the invitation for further details.

Next Fellowship Meeting: July 12th 2016, London, UK

The Federation operates a programme of regular meetings so that Fellows may take a strategic perspective on developments that impact on Human Resource Management at an international level and share ideas about how to translate legislative changes and new case law into workable company policies and practices. These events have no fixed, formal agenda and all discussions are “off the record” and “in camera”. There are no notes taken,  no final resolutions or press statements and no commercial sponsors.  Academics and other subject experts may be involved, but only by special invitation.

Should a Fellow, for any reason, not be able to attend any meeting they may ask a colleague from their organisation to attend on their behalf.

Attendance at meetings should be classified as corporate training and development for expense and tax purposes and not treated as a benefit in kind. Please contact your finance department for confirmation of their status.
